About Us
About the Company
Viscadia is a leading consulting firm focused on forecasting for life sciences. We help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies make high-stakes decisions with greater clarity and confidence, with teams across the United States, Europe, and India. We are deeply committed to a vision of shared growth and success for our clients, colleagues, and communities.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead Viscadia’s forecasting platform. This is a technical leadership role wherein the individual will lead the architecture, engineering stack, and AI strategy for the platform. The individual will define the technology decisions, lead a cross-functional engineering team, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with delivery teams building the enterprise grade platform.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with hands-on experience in platform engineering, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices. The individual should be equally comfortable writing code, designing systems, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client’s needs.

Why consider Viscadia as your next career step?
Since our founding in 2010, Viscadia has grown from a startup to a global team that works alongside the companies shaping life sciences. We are dedicated to promoting a positive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive. Our culture is collaborative by design, with teams across three regions operating as one. We are looking for people who want to grow with us and are excited to help shape what comes next.
Roles and Responsibilities
Platform Leadership
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the Viscadia forecasting platform — API design, data layer, application services, and frontend.
- Make key decisions on technology stack, cloud infrastructure, and system design trade-offs across performance, scalability, and cost.
- Manage project timelines, priorities, and resource allocation. Collaborate with business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement data governance, privacy controls, and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, data residency) required for enterprise pharma clients.
Engineering Excellence
- Translate consulting and client requirements into technical specifications, sprint plans, and engineering deliverables.
- Own the product roadmap from a technical lens — sequencing features, managing technical debt, and balancing scope against timeline and quality.
- Implement DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation.
AI Strategy and Implementation
- Lead Viscadia’s AI strategy and roadmap. Prioritize high-impact AI use cases, evaluate and select appropriate tools and frameworks, and make build-vs-buy decisions for AI capabilities that enhance forecasting and consulting delivery.
- Lead development of AI and agentic AI solutions leveraging large language models, RAG frameworks, prompt engineering and finetuning techniques. Deploy and monitor AI models that automate workflows and deliver measurable client value.
- Design human-in-the-loop (HITL) AI workflows that maintain forecaster accountability while progressively automating baseline generation.
Team Management and Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, and analysts to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Partner with consulting teams to understand client context, and present platform solution to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Innovation and Thought Leadership
- Proactively scope and stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in platform engineering and AI.
- Proactively evaluate and pilot newer technologies that could enhance Viscadia’s platform capabilities.
- Contribute to the broader technology community through publications, presentations, or open-source contributions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the technical team.
Qualifications
Required
- 8–12 years of experience in software engineering, platform development, or technical program delivery, with 3–5 years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex, multi-workstream initiatives on time in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong structured problem-solving skills with the ability to make trade-offs across scope, quality, timeline, and scalability.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in Engineering preferred.
- Experience building and deploying scalable web applications, with a strong understanding of modern software development practices including Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and applied AI concepts, with the ability to integrate AI capabilities into product or platform solutions.
- Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, sufficient to lead frontend teams and architectural decisions.
- Experience combining forecasting with market research or commercial analytics
- Experience supporting commercial forecasting for product launch planning (assumption setting, scenario planning, uptake and share dynamics)
- Experience providing onsite or embedded client support
- Familiarity with healthcare datasets, syndicated databases, or commercial pharma data sources
Key Skills (Must Have)
- Technical leadership: 8–12 years in software engineering or platform development, with 3–5 years leading technical teams and owning architecture decisions.
- Full-stack engineering depth: Hands-on experience across the stack — backend services (Python, Node.js, or Java), modern frontend (React or equivalent), cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Delivery discipline: Proven ability to lead multi-workstream technical programs — backlog management, sprint planning, stakeholder communication, and on-time delivery in fast-paced environments.
- Agentic AI & LLMs: Practical experience building LLM-powered features — RAG, prompt engineering, tool use, HITL patterns — and deploying them in production environments.
- AI/ML implementation: Working knowledge of ML frameworks and the ability to deploy, monitor, and maintain models in production — not just prototype them.
- Data engineering: Demonstrated experience designing data pipelines, analytical data stores, and data modeling for complex, multi-source analytical workloads.
Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience managing global virtual teams and large-scale solution delivery.
- Life sciences or pharma commercial domain experience — especially forecasting, commercial analytics, or market access.
- Familiarity with pharma data ecosystems: IQVIA, Symphony Health, Veeva, or equivalent commercial data sources.
- Prior experience at a consulting firm or professional services organization where software is built alongside client delivery.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure, GCP).
- Strong supervisory and coaching with track record of technical innovation and thought leadership.
