About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Consultant to join our India team based in Gurgaon. This role at Viscadia offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of software development, healthcare analytics, and consulting. You will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of modern web applications and digital platforms used to support pharmaceutical forecasting and analytics. Through hands-on project work and collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will deepen your technical expertise, develop an understanding of pharmaceutical business needs, and build a strong foundation for a consulting career.

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.  
  • Build and maintain cloud-native solutions using services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.  
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.  
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment, testing, and infrastructure provisioning.  
  • Design and manage containerized workloads using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (EKS).  
  • Configure and maintain cloud networking components, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, security groups, VPNs, and connectivity solutions.  
  • Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls.  
  • Monitor cloud environments using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.  
  • Automate operational tasks, environment provisioning, system maintenance, and incident response processes using Python and cloud-native automation tools.  
  • Optimize infrastructure utilization and cloud spending through performance tuning, resource right-sizing, and cost-management initiatives.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across infrastructure, networking, deployment pipelines, and cloud services.  
  • Collaborate with development teams to establish cloud architecture standards, deployment strategies, and operational best practices.  
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, high availability, and business continuity initiatives across cloud environments.  
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and platform modernization initiatives.  

Business Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of forecasting and analytics platforms tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical clients across various therapeutic areas  
  • Build in depth understanding of pharma forecasting concepts, disease areas, treatment landscapes, and market dynamics to contextualize forecasting models and inform platform features  
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure forecast deliverables align with client objectives, timelines, and decision-making needs  
  • Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by mentoring junior team members and helping codify best practices in forecasting and business analytics  
  • Grow into a client-facing role, combining an understanding of commercial strategy with forecasting expertise to lead engagements and drive value for clients  

Skills and Technical Proficiencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience building backend applications, automation scripts, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.  
  • Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation, optimization, and integration with enterprise applications.  
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services, including services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, ECS/EKS, and related cloud-native technologies.  
  • Working knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.  
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs, microservices, and serverless applications.  
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control systems (Git), and DevOps practices for automated deployments.  
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.  
  • Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus.  
  • Understanding of cloud security, networking concepts, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.  
  • Exposure to modern web technologies and full-stack application development is desirable.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed cloud environments.

Domain Expertise (Good to have)

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial models, including treatment journeys, market dynamics, and key therapeutic areas  
  • Experience working with and interpreting industry-standard datasets such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, or similar secondary data sources  
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, market access considerations, and sales performance tracking metrics used across the pharmaceutical value chain  

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) from a premier engineering institute, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines  
  •  2+ years of experience in cloud engineering, data engineering, or software development, with a strong focus on AWS-based solutions.
